Americans will celebrate Independence Day on July 4th with barbecues, fireworks, and a day off from work for many. The Fourth of July commemorates the birth of American independence when the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in 1776. In terms of retail, Target, Walmart, and most Kroger grocery stores will be open. Sam’s Club will have limited hours, while Costco warehouses will be closed. Whole Foods stores will be open, but Trader Joe’s locations will close early. Postal services and most FedEx and UPS services will be closed. Banks will also be closed, and the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will have the day off. Government offices will be closed as well.
