Manchester City have secured the signing of Vivianne Miedema from Arsenal. Miedema, the all-time leading scorer in the Women’s Super League, joins City on a three-year contract. The move marks City’s first acquisition of the summer transfer window. Miedema’s departure from Arsenal came after the expiration of her contract and her decision comes in light of City’s ambitions to win titles. The 27-year-old Dutch forward has won the WSL Golden Boot twice and had a successful tenure at Arsenal, scoring 79 league goals in seven seasons. Miedema’s new teammates include fellow Dutch internationals Jill Roord and Kerstin Casparij.
